Celebrating 10 years of the power of black art to transform, unite, and enrich!

Welcome to Art Sanctuary's 10th season of presenting African American cultural and educational events in North Philadelphia. We are new and improved, and looking ahead to a boffo year! Behind the scenes, we're preparing to kick off our 10th year in style!

Check this out: outdoor birthday tribute to John Coltrane (September); teachers' workshops (October); 10th year anniversary gala (November) with an original composition, "A Shepherd Among" by Grammy-nominated composer Hannibal Lokume; young writers' retreat (December); jazz duo Mitchell & Ruff (April); spring production with our after-school arts students, the North Stars (May); and --of course -- 25th anniversary of the Celebration of Black Writing Festival in May 2009!

We WANT YOU to be a part of this years' action!!! Come play with us! Make a donation, take out or renew a membership, for $25, $50 or $100; and come uptown for the kind of spiritual nourishment you get from excellence in the arts; in the community; for real.
